Aptera Motors has presented the first solar electric vehicle (SEV) that does not require a charge for the majority of daily use and has the potential to undo the achievements of the industry so far. Aptera uses a combination of solar cells, batteries and advanced technology to deliver the most efficient electric car in the world ever made available to consumers.
Specifically, Aptera claims that its solar array, also known as "never-charge," can harvest up to 1,000 kWh of solar energy per day. Now Aptera Motors claims its updated electric tricycle is powered by solar energy. The Atera Never-Charge was built as a vehicle and designed to draw enough energy for daily use in the US and Europe to drive more than 11,000 miles per year in most regions.
Atera says its solar panels should offer a range of about 40 miles a day, doubling the power outlet where solar-powered cars are installed to break the dependence on oil. Solar hooks are not new, but Aptera's claim that it is the world's most efficient solar electric car is not new.
The liquid-cooled electric motor accelerates the vehicle from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 110 km / h, according to the company. Aptera plans to offer a range of about 40 miles per day, with a maximum power of 1,000 kilowatt hours. Reservations for the tricycle, which opens on December 4, as well as reservations for the solar and electric car are listed for an all-electric version of the car, which can be pre-ordered.
A 100% refundable deposit will be reserved for Paradigm and its special edition, which will be the first model to be produced in 2021. This version is the model that Aptera was originally planning to build from 2006 to 2011.
After the liquidation of Aptera, the three founders bought back the intellectual property, modernized the vehicle and launched a crowdfunding campaign to finance the production, but this was not started on three wheels, as the company missed its target of producing 1,000 vehicles.
Other companies have tried to incorporate solar panels into a design that looks more like a conventional car. These include a hatchback that is primarily oriented towards Europe, a Dutch project developed by veterans of the World Solar Challenge, and an electric car with a hybrid engine.
The APTERA World's Most Efficient Electric Car is evocative, to say the least, but that's why you're drawn to it in the first place.
