Well, we've seen lots of flying cars in futuristic movies and TV shows from our childhood. But who would've thought we will be able to see and drive them? SkyDrive made it possible!
This amazing Japanese startup backed with Toyota revealed a video from the latest test of its SD-03 flying car showing off the aircraft’s first takeoff in a controlled environment and successfully bore its human pilot six feet above the ground for four minutes. The long been distant dream for flying car makers was a complete success!
Just look at in awe of the cool features a sporty exterior in pearl white, with funky H-shaped white lights to the front and a red T-shaped light to the rear. It's like living in the movies!
The SD-03 was designed to be the world’s smallest electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing model is aimed at civilian use. Future versions are intended for deployment as an urban taxi by 2023. Does this mean taxi drivers can have a flying car license?
The single-seat SD-03 electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle measures two meters high, four meters in length and four meters wide (6.56 x 13.1 x 13.1 ft), or about the footprint of two parked cars.
Safety is the primary concern. That's why here are two sets of counter-rotating rotors to the front and two more sets at the rear, which can be shielded behind curved protectors for safety. Each rotor is driven by its own electric motor as a failsafe against unit failure.
SkyDrive plans to evolve the car’s design so that it can accommodate two occupants. So if licensing airborne taxi service would be approved, we'll just meet in the sky! And pretty sure, it'll be a great gift idea for car lovers in the future.
